  • June - Mark Rowe the Editor of Professional Security Magazine gave a (Crystal ball gazing) talk outlining his views of various topical security issues/concerns
  • May - Gavin Jones of the Building Research Establishment (LPCB) outlined details of their important new ‘SABRE’ scheme, which aims to help clients impartially assess the security levels/regimes in place at high risk sites. 
  • April - David Chapman of International Tools talked about their innovative new [Sold Secure tested] device* for securing high value wheeled motor trade/workshop toolboxes
  • March - Paul Phillips, Technical Manager British Security Industry Assoc (BSIA) discussed the new standards regime coming into being for Alarm Transmission Systems in the UK.
  • February - Roger Kay, Head ARC Operations at Banham Group discussed ARC procedures/processes and problems re: Intruder alarm/CCTV systems
  • January - Chris Auger (Schemes Support Manager) from BAFE presented about their registration schemes, e.g. for fire alarms, extinguishers and Fire risk Assessment 

2016

  • Dec  - Guy Fox from the Master Locksmiths Association (MLA) talking about effective use, and possible pitfalls, of social media - Facebook, Twitter and Linkd-In, etc.
  • Nov  - Proposed 'speed dating' style presentation by selected [volunteering] members. Contact our Secretary if you wish to be involved, limited spaces.
  • Oct  - National Security Inspectorate (NSI). Paul Condliffe and Graeme Hazelwood talking about their alarm/CCTV accredited company inspection process; e.g. why and how it's done, what common problems and issues arise with site audits and paperwork - and what we can perhaps learn from the process.
  • Jun – AGM + Lee Wallace (TH March) talking about the (hopefully then concluded) industry agreement on Security Fogging systems - which should be essential learning for insurers and installers. 
  • May – Burton Safes - Ben Lewis (Chair of UK Eurosafe) talking about topical safe issues, e.g. Eurosafe and testing/certfication bodies, the trend to electronic locks/links to alarms, etc.
